Choirs
We offer three choirs to choose from—Stroud Folk Choir, Sing Ahoy! Dursley Folk and Shanty Choir, and the newest addition, Harmony Tree Folk Choir—plus a weekly vocal improv deep dive practice for musicians and more advanced singers.
Stroud Folk Choir
Stroud Folk Choir is the largest and most established of our three choirs. It’s a vibrant, thriving community of around 50 singers. Our main focus is singing together, with regular performances in the local community throughout the year.
We currently have a waiting list, but it’s worth adding your name, as spaces do become available. We’d particularly welcome more low voices to help maintain a balanced sound as we offer openings from the waiting list.

Sing Ahoy!
Dursley Tab, Community Rooms, Parsonage Street, Dursley
Wednesdays 5pm-6.30pm
Sing Ahoy! Dursley Folk and Shanty Choir is now a medium-sized group and growing! We sing a combination of folk songs, sea shanties and seasonal community choir songs. We welcome all voices and all songs are taught by ear.
Harmony Tree
Tuesdays 3.45pm-5.15pm
Our newest Stroud-based group is open to people of all ages, and children are welcome to join in if they'd like to sing too. We'll learn some of the same songs as Stroud Folk Choir, giving us the chance to join in on community events and outings. At the same time, we'll focus on songs that are a bit simpler, so everyone can enjoy singing together.
St Laurence Hall, The Shambles, Stroud
Vocal Improv Deep Dive
One for the more advanced musicians and singers:
I invite you to join me in exploring Collaborative Vocal Improvisation, where we’ll focus on deep listening, intuitive musicianship, and expanding our musical boundaries. Each session will challenge us with new rhythms, modes, melodies, and harmonies, with the goal of integrating these into our improvisation, songwriting, and overall musical expression.
