After promising it for a while, I’m thrilled to announce that I've finally booked a slot for a brand new Afternoon Choir!

This choir will capture all the magic of Stroud Folk Choir, with a wonderful mix of uplifting sea shanties, joyful celebration songs, moving laments, catchy ditties, and songs that celebrate the beauty of the natural world. We’ll be singing traditional and contemporary folk songs, both from our own islands and other cultures worldwide, in 3- and 4-part harmonies. Plus, we’ll include some fun circle singing and engaging voice and rhythm games that are easy for everyone to join in!

This group is perfect for anyone who loves to sing but prefers daytime sessions to evenings. It’s an inclusive space for all ages and abilities—whether you're looking to connect with a cross-generational singing community, or simply want to learn new songs to take home. Families are very welcome!

Children over 5 are more than welcome to join in if they’re keen to sing (or just enjoy listening), along with tweens and teens—just be sure they’re accompanied by a responsible adult. While we welcome younger children, this isn't a parent-and-toddler group, and we ask that little ones are likely to settle during the session so that we can maintain the focus of our group singing.

This is a non-audition community choir, and we’ll be learning songs by ear—no need to read music! Lyrics will often be provided for the longer songs.

We’ll also be teaming up with members of Stroud Folk Choir and Sing Ahoy! (Dursley) for some exciting collaborative events, local performances, and community outings.

These sessions will be drop in whilst we grow and the cost will be:

£8 per Adult

£5 per child over 12

£3 per child 5-11

Cash or Card on the door

Tuesdays 3.45pm- 5.15pm
