About the event
I'm delighted to be taking part in The Red Hearth Women's Festival again this year. For the third year running I'll be holding a workshop, and this year we'll be adding a singing circle around the fire for anyone who'd like to share a song.
Songs for the Hearth 6-8pm
Join us as we sing songs that celebrate the experience of being a woman. Songs of joy & open-heartedness, defiance and strength, all taught by ear in rounds and simple harmony.
There will be the opportunity to stay on after the workshop for a Sing-Around.
Songs for the Hearth - Sing Around/Singing circle 8-10pm
Come for an evening of song around the fire. Bring a song or two that you'd like to share.
I encourage you to come with something that others can join in with, this may be a short song that we can sing a few times until we all know it, or one with a repeating chorus. If you'd like to share a song and ask people just to listen then this is also welcome and we may dip into some Collaborative Vocal Improvisation if the group is keen,
Acapella is encouraged as we are creating a space where song and voice has priority, and opportunity to sing together is rich.
